The students who graduate from Russian Medical Universities listed in World Directory of Medical Schools published by WHO will be eligible to appear for the screening test conducted by the Medical Council of India. As per the amendment to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, all Indian students, who wish to go for their undergraduate medical studies to any foreign medical university, have to obtain an eligibility certificate from the Medical Council of India prior to joining the university and appear for a screening test upon returning back, to obtain MCI registration. The academic requirement for the eligibility certificate for the general category is 50% mark in Physics, chemistry and Biology combined and 40 % for the reserved category. On successful completion of the medical course in Russia the student will have to pass the screening test conducted by the National Board of Examination and undergo one year Internship for permanent Registration with the Medical Council of India. No there is no restriction in the number of attempts for clearing the screening test , but it is in the best interest of the students to clear the screening test in the first time. Selecting a reputed University in Russia with good training facilities followed by regular attendance and successful completion of academic syllabus will ensure that the student can easily pass the screening test.

For obtaining the passport, you need to apply to your local passport office on an application form that is available at the passport office or post office . The students can also apply online in passport seva website http://www.passportindia.gov.in. Complete information about applying online and obtaining appointments are given in the website. It normally takes around 6 weeks from the date of application with the passport office and you receive the passport by registered post. In case of TATKAL scheme you may get the passport in a shorter duration by furnishing additional documents.
There would be no entrance examinations to be given by the students before departure to Russia. But the students will be tested for their proficiency in the subjects of English, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry at the Universities. In some cases if the students is very weak in any subjects the university coaches the students on that particular subject at an extra cost
The direction for the payment of the fees is specified and mentioned in the admission letter , which is issued by the university. The student is expected to pay the tuition fees year wise. But it some exceptional cases after the approval from the university he/ she can pay the fees semester- wise that is half the tuition fee by 15th of September and the balance by the 15th of January.
The students once on reaching the university will be asked to sign a contract with the University. The students are requested to fully read and understand the rules and regulations as per the contract.
The University signs a contract with the students detailing the fees and other liabilities, and hence the fees cannot be changed.
Yes ,all the students will be taught Russian language in the university. Learning Russian language will be a part of the curriculum as the student will have to communicate with the general public outside campus in Russia. The students of the Medical courses will have to learn Russian Language to interact with patients.
University Hostels: The Universities provide standard hostel accommodation and would differ from University to University. The hostels have rooms, which are shared by two, three or four students as per the hostel guidelines. There are also block type accommodation , where each block consists of one two bedroom and one three bedroom with bathroom and toilet. Every hostel is provided with common kitchen equipped with gas / electrical stoves , water and dining hall in each floor, which are used by the students . The hostel are maintained and controlled by the International Students Department of the university. The location of these hostels would depend on the university and may not necessarily be close to the place of study. However , it would be important to note that Russia offers a very good public transport network for the student to commute to the place of study from the hostel.
The Students can also stay in Private hostels / apartments whose cost will be little more expensive than the university hostels and will depend on the location. Appartments are considered to be more comfortable as they come fully furnished and with additional living space and amenities. However some universities do not allow students to live outside the university hostels.

Students can contact home by phone, e- mail or any latest social media networks. The Students are advised to carry a GSM mobile smart phone, for which they can buy a SIM card in Russia with internet connectivity, with which the student can virtually be connected with home by voice and video 24 X 7. Internet facilities are also available to the students at the Hostel or at the nearest post office and Internet cafes.
Yes the students can invite their parents or relatives to Russia. Study Abroad will provide necessary help to the Parents if they wish to visit their children.
All students are expected to take medical insurance which will cost 75 to 150 USD per year. This will cover all medical expenses during the students stay in Russia.
From time to time airlines do announce Special Student fares. The fares are available at discounted rates during a period of time or some airlines offer extra baggage. However booking a ticket in advance and also booking a return ticket will be cheaper and beneficial to the student.
Students are allowed to open bank accounts in the local banks in their city of location. The parents can transfer money to these bank account for tuition fees or for the students living expenses. The students can also open student’s accounts in banks in India, which offer zero balance accounts with International debit card facility. These debit cards can be used in Russia at ATMs specified to withdraw money. Anyhow there are some charges applied by the banks for withdrawal of money. Students are advised to withdraw money monthly once to save bank Charges. The students can also take pre paid US currency cards which also serve as debit cards from banks which can be re loaded by their parents in India.
It is not compulsory for students to come back to India every year. He/ She could stay back in the University hostel.

As part of the services offered by Study Abroad, we would submit the passport of the student to the visa section of the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation in India and the students is not expected to appear for a personal interview. In rare cases at the discretion of the visa officer, a student may be asked to be present at a pre defined date and time for an interview.
Once the fees is paid to the university, the university is unable to refund the fees. However in such circumstances, a request for the same could be made to the university. The discretion to do so rests with the university.

All the establishments like homes, hostels, classrooms, shops etc as well as the public transports are centrally heated. In case of the establishments the heating is regulated by the local municipal departments. Every student should also take care by wearing warm clothes like fur coats, winter shoes, caps, gloves etc. when they go outdoors.
